How We Calculate Landscaping Estimates

At GreenCat Mowing & Landscape, every estimate is built using a transparent pricing structure that reflects real costs, fair labor rates, and the value of professional craftsmanship.
We don’t guess — our pricing is calculated using time-tested formulas that account for the following:

1. Labor & Time
Each job is estimated based on the total labor hours required — including setup, material handling, and cleanup. Our labor rates reflect fair pay for skilled work, including team wages, training, and insurance.

2. Equipment & Overhead
Our rates include the cost of maintaining, repairing, and replacing commercial-grade equipment, as well as fuel, transportation, licensing, and business operations. This ensures reliability and professionalism on every project.

3. Materials & Disposal
Materials like mulch, rock, soil, and edging are billed at cost plus a small handling fee to cover pickup and delivery. We also factor in disposal or dumping fees for removed debris, brush, or old materials.

4. Site Conditions
Estimates take into account the difficulty of access, slope, distance to parking, amount of trimming or handwork, and any obstacles that affect production speed or equipment use.

5. Seasonal Timing & Demand
Spring and fall cleanups, for example, require more labor and disposal effort, while mid-season work may be more straightforward. Our seasonal rates reflect these workload changes.

Our Goal:
To provide fair, consistent pricing that’s easy to understand — no surprises, no hidden fees. You’ll always know exactly what you’re paying for and why.
